late again

I had been doing really well with my goal of writing 500-1000 words every day on my WIP until yesterday (Wednesday). I managed to write every day and get a poem done. Editing is on hold for a few days as I'm waiting for answers from my editor. So it's been a great week so far. I do believe I can continue with the trend!

This morning I have a much needed massage and this afternoon I actually have an interview with a reporter about my latest book. That's kind of exciting! Not a lot of interest in Common Insects of Nunavut so I am pleased to be able to promote it!! I have not done many media interviews so I hope it will be interesting and fun.

I am finding these check-ins to be helping with my motivation. I have my goals written on a white board behind my computer where I can see them every time I sit here. Makes everything seem more real and concrete. I am starting to feel more comfortable in my new home.

  1. It is definitely motivating to have concrete goals and be accountable. Hope your media interview goes well and you reminded me I have a massage booked for tuesday....oh bliss!

Enjoy the rest of your week!

  2. Some days just get away from us. You're making great progress with your 500-1000 words, so a skipped day now and then seems not too terrible at all.

I like the idea of having your goals posted where you can see them while you're writing. I am wondering how I might do that (I write at my work desk and with my laptop at home, so no actual wall to hang my goals on)--it seems like it would be a nice motivational boost.

Keep persevering! You are doing great!

  3. Hope the interview went well. I, too, find the ROW80 check-ins motivational. Great job on meeting your goals!
